Fritz I am a 29 year old quarter horse. I love to be cuddled. I decided to spend my retirement at LCAR. I love giving children rides on occasions at the special needs rides. I previously raised four 4-H girls. I would love to have a sponsor to call my own. |
Kaycee Hi, I'm Kaycee. I am very new to LCAR, having just arrived in February 2009. I am a 22 year "young" Quarter Horse mare. My life started out pretty good. I was shown in reining and did very well. Or so I thought. But then, (and I don't know why) a very bad man got very angry at me and shot me in the eye with a gun. Needless to say, I will never see out of that eye again. But I survived!! This freaked me out so badly and made me so sad and scared. I could not understand why or how this had could happen to me. Then, luckily, a very nice girl took me away from there to try to save my life. Then something called a computer put this very nice girl in contact with the people at LCAR. They are going to help me and take care of me for the rest of my life. I met a horse named Styler and he helped me feel very safe during the trailer ride to LCAR. When we got to LCAR Styler showed me which stall was mine and then some very nice people gave me some tender loving care and food. I am very malnourished and I really, really appreciate it. They have done everything to make me feel right at home. The very next day they started working with me to help me get my confidence back, so one day I can be emotionally, physically and mentally healthy again. I'm already beginning to feel very comfortable here because all they want to do is pet me, brush me and love on me unconditionally. I really need help from people like you though. I am going to be getting the necessary surgery to close up my wound and the food to make my body healthy. But this all costs, and anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. I will live out my life here at LCAR but I hope that when I'm healthy again I will get to go places and educate the public on how to properly take care of horses. Thank you so much for your support from all of us at Linn County Animal Rescue |
Honey How do you do? My name is Honey and I am a 23 year old Quarter Horse. My previous family loved me enough that when it got to the point where keeping my weight on got to be too hard on them and the other horses picked on me, they brought me to LCAR. Here is where I will live out the rest of my days. |

Gideon's Story Hi, my name is Gideon and I am a 20 + year old Heinz 57 gelding. My previous family loved me enough so that when it was time find a new home for me they called these nice people who brought me to Linn County Animal Rescue. I am happy & retired. |
CHESTER I am a gelding and my name is Chester. I came from a family who loved me enough to ask for help when they had an accident and were no longer able to care for me. They called the LCSO and asked if someone there knew of a place for me to go. They sent some kind people from LCAR who brought me to their farm. Now I am ready to find another family that I can love. I am a handsome chestnut, with a blaze. A little over the hill (1977 circa) but I am the ladies man of all the ladies men!! I like to be out on the range and not cooped up. I like to only have my best of friends around, one or two at most. Would love to have a Sponsor or be adopted to the right home. |
