TEDDIE'S STORY

My name is Teddie and I am an Arabian gelding. No one loved me enough to feed me or give me a home until someone
cared enough to call the Sheriff's office to ask them to help me. The Sheriff sent his Deputies along with some very nice
people who brought me here to LCAR. They fed and wormed me, gave me a warm and clean place to stay, and most
importantly loved me. Since coming here I have gained about 300 lbs. and am now ready to find my permanent home where
I can share the love that has been given to me.

I love to be ridden and show my new loving family how well broke I am. I also like hanging out with my new friends, human
and horses alike, and being hugged on hence the name Teddie!

UPDATE: I moved to my new home in February 2009. I have a new best friend, his name is Toby. Guess what, he is a
rescue like me. I know we will get along great with my new family.

Toby's Story

Hi. My name is Toby and I am a 25 year old Arabian gelding. I was rescued from a very bad place where unspeakable
horrors happened to my horse friends. I and my equine friends witnessed some of our horse friends getting killed and
sawed into pieces. We were also starving to death (literally) from not being given any food.

Then, someone cared enough to tell the Linn County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) Livestock Investigation Team about our plight
and they came and took us away from there. I went to a foster home down the road because I was so weak they didn't
think I would make it any further. I stayed there for awhile until I had enough strength to go to another foster home.
Eventually I was able to go to the home of the founder of LCAR. It was there, with a lot of tender loving care, that I was
helped to get rehabilitated.

Well, I lived with LCAR for a few years where they took wonderful care of me and nursed me back to health. Then I was
adopted by my new family where I know I will live happily ever after.
Colt's Story ~ A True Success Tale

Hello, my name is Colt. I am a Morgan gelding. When I was about a year old, someone bought me from the auction and
took me home. All they had was a small yard where they tied me up like a dog (to this day, I still wonder what they were
thinking!). Within days I managed to break free and make a getaway. Then, some caring people helped catch me and the
Linn County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) deputies came and told me I was too young to run around by myself. So they told me to
stay in this field 'till they could get someone to babysit me since I was so young.

Then these nice people from LCAR came to get me. I didn't know they were there to help me. So, because I had not been
handled before and I was so scared, I ran from them, tried to kick them, struck out at them and tried to bite them. But thank
goodness they never gave up on me. But I did get the well deserved nickname "Crazy Colt".

They took me to their barn and volunteers worked with me 'till I was halter broke. At this time I was still really scared and
this made it a little hard for me to let myself be caught. Then I was gelded (I didn't like that much!). After that I went to a fund
raiser for the LCSMP and went home with a Posse member from Lane County. My new owner has had me for some time
now and he is so happy with me. I'm one lucky fellow. And I no longer have the nickname "Crazy Colt".

great companion to them.
