Linn County Animal Rescue 501(c)3 A Non Profit Horse Rescue Organization |
LCAR's mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for abused, abandoned, neglected and elderly horses. LCAR's vision is to work towards a fully functional horse facility that is staffed with trained, compassionate staff and caring volunteers, providing a safe and nurturing environment for abused, abandoned, neglected and elderly horses. We work closely with the Linn Co. Sheriff's Office Livestock Investigation Team, Linn County Sheriff's Mounted Posse, Oregon Horse Welfare Council, and public citizens to help educate so that horse owner can give their equines the necessary care and adequate needs. |
Our services provide veterinary services for specific and basic medical, farrier, nutritional, and social needs of each horse restoring them to health and vitality. Rehabilitated horses are made available for adoption by both individuals and services organizations approved by our adoption board. Horses that are no longer adoptable are provided a place of permanent retirement. See our Senior Pasture to sponsor one these special equines. |
We have a network of Foster Homes for horses in transition that have reached a level of rehabilitation that makes it possible for them to leave our facility for a more typical equine environment while awaiting adoption. Our horses also give back to the community that so generously supports them through special programs and events at our facility for groups such as special needs children, senior citizens, 4-H, veterans organizations. With help from sponsors, donations and our never ending dedication from the volunteers that make these equines their family; we hope to create a home for all equines that touch our lives. |
